Pros and Cons of Using PDF Files

“PDF” full form as Portable Document Format is use to fill many online application forms and for other purposes. Most of online books are also available to download in this version only. But most of us are unaware of the benefits and disadvantages of using “PDF”.

Several benefits provided by PDF are as below:

1. Secure: While sending your data over internet, our top priority is security. To keep it safe, we encrypt, password protect our precious data or add watermark. All of these features can be put in PDF file easily.

2. Easy to Compress: PDF files can be easily compressed when size bigger and send over internet without any hassle. You can use archive option to make a .rar file and can be send easily later on.


3. Self-Contained: Portable Document Format are self contained i.e. files are not dependent on any software, hardware or any operating system that is used to create the particular PDF. The document can be transmitted to and from any computer and device without any problem.

Disadvantage is as below:

 Difficult to Edit: The information present in PDF is very difficult to edit. On the other hand, a Microsoft word file can be easily alter. The easy way to edit PDF is convert the file to word format online.

2 Types of PDF Files: Generally PDF are of two types: Scanned PDF and native PDF. The later one is made by a file processed electronically, whereas other one is created by scanning a document with the scanner.
